North Sea: LONGING FOR LANGEOOG (Satis Shroff)

Stuck in the tidal flats of Langeoog (C) satisshroff

LONGING FOR LANGEOOG (Satis Shroff)

Thomas, a burly, bearded botanist turned IT-specialist in Basle, and I decided to make a Herrnnachmittag out of a sunny day, despite the clouds in the vast horizon of the North Sea Isle of Langeoog, where we were spending our holidays with our near and dear ones. There we were, two croonies spending the afternoon, after an extended… Continue

But last night, after an entire weekend of working with not much creativity flowing, I awoke with clear words, thoughts and ideas that got my adrenalin flowing. Once this happens, I have to grab a pen and paper from my bed side and jot it all down before I… Continue

Three Good Reasons to Adore Books in April 2008

(AP photo of Junot Diaz by Jim McKnight)

The more the fate of books in the world are called into question ––as they compete with the ever-increasing domination of techno gadgetry–– the stronger and more enduring their impact seems to become. There is, apparently, no such thing as a permanent substitute for the written word adorned by human imagination and artfully bound in hard or soft covers.

This observation… Continue

"Another day another dollar" by Bonnie

Getting a bunch of ideas for a comic book, VIA the "day job" , humm, alot of strange characters at the dreaded "day job"
And a ton of sad but funny stuff to work with, sort of turning lemon into lemonade.......the only thing is, even if I get it published, the marketing part is a bear.........That's life in the writers lane, I guess, somebody's got to do it.....

Tangled Hearts Chapter Two

Tangled Hearts by Rosemary Morris

Chapter Two

Chesney stepped from Lady Ware’s spacious house into King Street and walked towards Whitehall. Yet he would not wait for Mistress Shaw to come to town and parade in the latest fashions, powder and patch. Where did she live? He searched his memory.

Ah, now he remembered. She lived at Bellemont. Lady Ware had… Continue

When your soul seems to be stripped...

Have you experienced this? When things you counted on just vanish, leave, evaporate with no trace. And, on top of it all, you receive discouraging news?

Waving my hand in the air, "I’ve been there!"

Actually it feels like life is a roller coaster. The only thing is I didn’t buy a ticket, didn’t even volunteer to visit the attraction park...but still here I am—seated in place, hair flying in the wind as I go up, up. But suddenly, with no warning, with the speed of a rocket… Continue
