Thirty-one years ago, Buxly the Butcher went to trial for killing his entire family. He was found guilty, and sentenced to die for those crimes. Now, Janet Hale, a recently divorced nurse, has purchased the house unaware of the brutal murders that took place there so long ago.
From the moment she, her eleven-year-old son, and his overprotective Rottweiler move…

I didn’t know this when I read this story, but it is part of a larger work, the launching point of the author’s next novel. Good stuff as far as I am concerned. I like the use of the digital short story to whet my appetite for it. What does this firecracker of a story have inside it? Check it out; I have included the author’s bio as well:
“Trestle Press award winning author R.W. Doyen crafts a tale that will mesmerize you. The story begins with a difficult birth during a vicious…

Hello and welcome to the weekend! For me that means more work, but I am not complaining. Being busy is good right? As I am writing this, we are getting the Improvised Digital Short Story rolling and the first two authors are composing their pieces of the story. The three words they get to use are: Bartender, Library, and Dumpster. It should be interesting. Check in to the G-ZONE later today, around 2:30 to 3pm as I interview Robert Ford, author of Fall of Grace, from the World of Hek Series,…

You know, I think my first novel just may have offended someone (who has not read it). It's called 'Calumny whlie reading Irvine Welsh' and I was attending a function at my local library last week, and I found 'Calumny....' on a shelf in Young Adult. My other novel, 'Abernethy' is Young Adult, and therefore in the right spot, but the librarian assumed the first one fell into that category as well. I removed it, took the young fledgling librarian aside, and explained that this first novel…

Really I promise this will be my last post for a while. Sincerely, at least until tomorrow. Here is the last thing I need to get out of my system before I call it a day posting. Next week I will only be posting on Self-Published authors and /or Independent Publishers, basically no one from the Big 6. To make my point, on Vincent Zandri’s Vox ( if you do not read his blog I suggest you do, great stuff), I was lucky enough to guest post on there Sunday, or was it Saturday, they all meld…

Christianity- what does it mean to you? What are your thoughts of whether Christianity should be molded to relate to this modern world, or should the modern world learn to relate to original Christianity? Does the Christian faith need to adjust its thinking on some of our modern issues? Or, are these issues the same as years past and the only difference is the people…

Grace visits the Book Wenches and asks:
Is there a stigma attached to reading romance?
I think so.
It is only since becoming a published author of historical romance that I ‘came out’ and admitted to reading the genre. The strange thing is that since I went public, people I consider perfectly normal,…

In the previous post of the day I made mention of the fact that Vincent Zandri and I are going to be doing something along with a class of graduate students from West Virginia University. It seems that the class has been following our blogs and Zandri’s success in class and one of the students called in to my blogtalk show yesterday, Thursday, as Mr. Zandri was my guest. The young woman is a Facebook friend of mine and follower of our blogs, Katherine LaHart. She put the suggestion to us…

What an amazing sight, it must be!
Seeing Christ seated on His throne,
as He offers a continual covering on behalf
of those that He considers His own.
Many have often wondered ‘why’,
as observed in the following question:
If Christ’s mission on Earth was fulfilled,
then ‘Why does He make for us daily intercession?’
Beside Jehovah, robed in holy righteousness,
Christ, our personal defender, pleads our case;
for Jesus is uniquely qualified; He…

Above us is the Celestial Lodestone,
the universal point of spiritual reference.
As a stalwart of magnetic attraction,
He constantly draws men unto Himself.
Dynamic in nature and unchanging in purpose,
His principles are adaptable for all situations.
The foundation of His Word is solid;
His Truth is filled with plenty of promise.
Raise your eyes! Look up!
He is…

Daniel Robert Lynch, a young and artistically gifted student, was a victim of mistaken identity in a shooting on September 22nd, 2006. “Dan” was an inspiring art student working towards his Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree. He had a dream, and nothing was going to stop him… nothing except a bullet.
Following his tragic death, his parents, Robert and Marian Lynch worked passionately to establish The Daniel Robert Lynch Art Education and Scholarship Program (DRL Art Program) in loving…

Wow, it is Thursday already and we are moving like a bullet train headed for a big day on Saturday. Our second Improvised Digital short Story will be happening then and I am totally amped at the prospect of working with a fine group of authors on this next project. We will start at 8am on Saturday and hopefully be done everything by 3pm.I am giving each author a time limit of 1.5 hours to put together their 1,000 to 1500 words of the story. Basically within a nice 8 hour time span…
