Chasing Sunsets Eva Marie Everson

I got way more than I bargained for in this novel. Usually my reads aren’t as emotional as this one is. The post for Chasing Sunsets was supposed to have been up last week, but with my laptop getting hit with a bad virus I didn’t get to put it up so I am sorry and can only apologize to Revell and Eva Marie Everson. Back to the novel at hand, here is the synopsis:

“Kimberly Tucker's life hasn't turned out the way she thought it would. A divorced mother of two, Kim resents her…

Double Take Melody Carlson

I really enjoy Melody Carlson. I have had the chance to interview her on my blogtalk radio show, The G-ZONE, a little while back; here is the link:

http://www.blogtalkradio.com/gelatisscoop/2011/04/13/melody-carlson-is-my-guest-today

I really enjoyed our discussion and had a nice time talking with her, so when the opportunity came up to read her novel I took a leap at it, why…

Sojorn With a Stranger - Kata Diablo, Author

Sojourn With a Stranger - Review by Martha A. Cheves, Author of Stir, Laugh, Repeat
“The doll was on my pillow when I returned to my room.”
“What madness is this?” Derek paced the hallway.  “Someone is up to no good.”  When he stopped to look at her, she reminded him of a frightened child.  Her cheeks were pale, her eyes ringed with dark…

Readers Revolt, Raise Your Voice, and Say I am not Going to Take it Anymore!

Hey, how is it going? What is my issue? What is the source of my angst? Why am I really royally ticked off right now?  I have a few issues with the state of “Traditional Publishing”, or as some refer to them “The Big Six”. Let me expand and explain if you can follow along with me. As a blogger I am fortunate, and I mean this sincerely, to be contacted by authors, publicists, etc. to review novels. I am happy to do this, because let’s face it, it is fun and who doesn’t like a good…

Oh, what a crappy weekend!

It's been an interesting couple of weeks.  I've finished the first draft of my current novel, and before I start a rewrite, I've decided on a project for my next novel.  This is all good.  What is not good is that my past few days have been motifed with dog faeces.  Yep, you read right.  Dog poop everywhere.  I babysat my mother-in-law's shitzu/maltese terrier, whilst she and my husband attended a function in way-out-west New South Wales.  I took it outside several times, and it did its…

10 Ways to Enhance Your Competitiveness in Life

The world we live in is becoming increasingly competitive with more and more people chasing after the same number of finite opportunities. Regardless of the field of play- sports, business, career, entertainment, politics and ministry among others, the demands for opportunities to gain and retain customers, attract patronage to one's cause, secure votes from the electorate, get to the top, emerge successful at bids for contracts, jobs…

Retro Centre Samuel Pepys

Retro Centre and Samuel Pepys

I always enjoy visiting St Albans.  Yesterday I visited a treasure house of items from times past at a Retro Centre, which I will visit again, and I shall attend the Retro Fair next weekend.

The Retro Centre is divided into sections where different sellers arrange their wares.  China, glass, curios, soft furnishings, clothes and a treasure house of books.

As I went round I yearned to own a…

Fathers & Grandfathers...The Best of the Best!

"Larger than life” is a phrase I never understood when I was a kid, but there are no better words to describe my beloved grandfather. Joseph Carrier was the ultimate Grandpa; he was also the ultimate husband and father, according to other members of my family J .

Every Sunday we would go to…

Three MIT scientists risk their careers, reputations and their lives bringing a new form of energy to life in ‘Energetics: The First Order’ by Daniel Ward and Terre Britton.  Who wouldn’t want America to have a self-sustained energy source?  Only the U.S. government and the “Big Energy”…

Roots of Indifference

Roots of Indifference, is the winner of the 2011 Pinnacle Achievement Award in literature history.

Need to read the unforgettable, historical, fictional novel "Roots of Indifference," written from 1910-to 1941 based on true facts and fast paced. The researched in this saga, took 20 years to complete. The history and information came from stories told by the older generations and their experience. Living in a place that everything that took place was being kept secret and never…

More Noise and Props from an "Indie Publisher" -Trestle Press

Waking to the news that one of my fellow collaborators, Big Daddy Abel, had three titles in the TOP TEN in his category made me take pause and reflect a bit. My wife made me stop though as it appeared it I may go into a seizure or something. Pausing and reflecting is not one of my many strong points. Here is the thing: as little as four months ago BDA was not doing this, the writing thing, nor was Trestle Press doing publishing on any type…

Around the Globe with JEFFREY MARTIN

This Friday morning I transport to pick up Jefrey Martin, and once again, I end up getting nudged out of the way of the control settings and soon we are whisked away to parts unknown. (What is it with these pushy authors, think they can take over my transporter anytime they feel like? Lol Just kidding.) Anyway, I'm a little wary because we've ended up at a strange house somewhere in possibly forgotten territory and...well, I'll let the Mr. Martin take it from here.

Today, I’m… Continue

Bring Us Your Living...Now! H.R. Toye The Author's Lab/Collaboration series

H.R. Toye is the author of the “Debtor’s Chip” series of digital short stories and she wanted to go all out hardcore horror with this little number. It is a smoking hot read and is filled with plenty of serial killer action and hardcore zombie suspense to slake any horror lover’s thirst. WARNING: If you have read any of the previous The Author’s Lab/Collaboration stories I think you have noticed an element of humor running throughout the story. That is not the case here.…

The Rainbow's End-Amish Fiction With A Twist

As promised I'm putting the first chapter of the second book in my Nurse Hal Among The Amish series in my blogs. Read my blog at booksbyfaycom.blogspot.com for the first chapter entry or on my book store weebly site blog. Because of the length I won't enter the chapter here.

Title of this book is The Rainbow's End. Since I make my own covers this book's cover is my front yard and hayfield facing south on a stormy day. At the end of the rain, a rainbow appeared in the south sky… Continue
