In preparation for the planned August 10 release of IN THE WEEDS, here is a Listicle. There may be a few folks as clueless as I recently was, so I'll explain that a listicle is a short article comparing my book to others written from a similar standpoint (in this case, absurdism). I put myself in some high-falutin' company, here:

Man Causing Climate Change Is 9/10s a Hoax!
Climate change is not a hoax, but it is 90% caused by natural changes in the Earth’s geologic development and not too much affected by the activities of “evil mankind”. The advocates of the theory of man causing climate change tend to “only live in the moment of now” and not see the Big Pattern Picture. Yes, man’s recorded history is a mere three thousand years old, but Earth’s natural history goes back billions of…

Hey guys, another helpful proofreading tip: separate your text into individual sentences. This will help you read each sentence carefully. To do this, just press the return key after each period so every line begins a new sentence, then read each sentence separately, spotting grammar, punctuation, or spelling errors as you go.

Katrina’s Gift – A historical story
My latest book, a novella, is in print now. My idea for this book was a short story I wrote for a contest several years ago when the contest theme was vampires and supernatural stories. I expanded the short story into a novella. I happened to see a friend post two pictures of a rainbow last year near her home in Northern Iowa and realized I could use those pictures for my cover. Katrina sees a rainbow aura before she has a vision. The…

Hey guys, today's proofreading tip: read your work backwards. We can sometimes become blind to our own mistakes, because our brains automatically correct grammatical errors as we read them. Reading the text backwards, word by word, helps break this pattern.

Hey guys, today's proofreading tip: concentrate. To catch all the mistakes in your manuscript, you need to get rid of all distractions and potential interruptions. That means turning off your cell phone, TV, or radio and staying away from email and - oh, the horror! - social media.

Hey guys, another quick proofreading tip: give a copy of your manuscript to another person, and keep a copy for yourself. Then take turns reading it out loud to each other, and while one of you reads, the other follows along to catch any errors.
