And They're Off!

Well, yesterday my final set of page proofs came back to me, and they looked great. I sent them back last night after going over the final edits. Today the publisher contacted me and said Enchantment's Embrace was sent to Cover Design! I'm so excited to see what they will do for a cover. I sent suggestions, but you know they have the final say. I can't wait!!

to my major blog. I have several new entries, so if anyone has a

How to Write a Killer "How to" Article in 7 Easy Steps

The most effective strategy that I've used to date to promote myself online, establish my expertise, and develop a following has been to write at least one quality "how to" article weekly and get that submitted to online article banks and directories. I love writing these "how to" articles in a tips format, i.e. 7 Secrets to...or 5 Strategies to Help You...or How You Can Do (something) in 6 Easy Steps. Why? Because people browse the Internet for fr*ee…

Strawman 2

The mobsters had no doubt chuckled at the FBI’s embarrassment over the “cookie caper.” But that incident didn’t end the investigations; it only caused a change in investigative strategy. Eventually, Las Vegas’ Strawman case agent Lynn Ferrin got to have that last laugh.…

Connecting Canada and the US...one book at a time

We are all connected. We're connected by past, present and future, by nature, spirit and energy, by hopes and dreams, by fate and faith, by love and light...and caring.

And yesterday, I was reminded again that this world we live in may seem unbelievably large--infinite even--and yet, the smallest of actions can set into motion something that spreads across land and sea, from one country to another, from one heart to another.

It all started with a wish list I saw…

Hitting the Ground Running

I'm back from vacation and am fairly well rested and rejuvenated. Unfortunately, the weather didn't cooperate, as we were met with cold, rainy weather instead of the sunny, dry weather I'd hoped for. The ocean view was nice, however, despite the wind and rain, and Eric and I even discussed the possibility of moving to a coastal community sometime in the future (in Eric's words, "When you're rich as Oprah.") Guess…

Friends can put you to shame...

Yes, they can, real shame, the dirt-eatin’ kind. But it’s not bad, in fact it’s good. When my dear friend, Cindi, sent me what she wrote, I made a screeching halt, shopping cart and all.

I stopped to re-think my values, re-organize my priorities, and re-evaluate my…

The Ultimate Passage

Hi, and welcome to my first blog post. My name is Jean Hackensmith, and I am the co-author (along with Kathe Birch) of "The Ultimate Passage," Book 4 in The "Passage" Time Travel Romance Saga. If you like to read time travel romance, then this series is definitely for you. The book takes place in 14th century Scotland, at the time of Robert the Bruce, William Wallace and King Edward. It is filled with tons of action, adventure and romance--a feat in itself considering that the hero comes…

Righteous Anger Brings Powerful Results

Consider the picture of Jesus cleaning out the temple. He did it twice; Once at the very beginning of his ministry (John 2: 15-17) and again at the end. (Mark 11: 15-17) Both times he showed anger, spoke with authority,

and single-handedly drove out everyone who used the house of God for personal

gain.

These were the only times Jesus showed anger. He wasn't…
