Author Success Story: Writing Articles to Sell More Books

Below is another success story, as told by Stefania Lucchetti, on how she gets more attention for herself and her books:

One of the most successful techniques I have used to market my book has been to write and submit articles for various blogs and websites. I have used Steve Harrison's Reporter Connection (free service) and PR Newswire (paid service) to receive requests from bloggers and website owners requesting content for their website and regularly submitted article… Continue

Guest Post Bob Hamer- Honoring Those Who Serve

HONORING THOSE WHO SERVE

By Bob Hamer

Author of ENEMIES AMONG US and THE LAST UNDERCOVER

I admit to being a country and western fan. As an author who pens 300-plus page books I admire writers who can tell their story in a two or three minute song. For James Otto’s latest CD,…

A new way to think about author branding

Like matter, author marketing can exhibit both particle and wave properties, to loosely paraphrase a concept from quantum mechanics (and I mean loosely). Particles appear to be separate from one another, but that's not true. It's hard to see, but all particles are actually part of the greater whole, the wave.

To learn how you, writing star, are that wave read here:… Continue

Romantic Wednesday Tamera Alexander Within My Heart

I want to thank everyone for such a nice response to our first official romance day; I was stunned. Let’s get right to this novel as it’s something that really found a place in my mind and heart very quickly. I guess

having a wife and seven daughters rubbed off on me a little and I was able to

channel my feminine side during this read. I really am enjoying the historical

romance category. I am going to try others, but right now I am grooving on this

for…

Will the Real Lorilyn Roberts Please Stand Up to Facebook Security Issues

Will the real Lorilyn Roberts please stand up. I hope that's me. My Facebook page was copied by an impostor who wanted to be me. It's rather strange to see your picture and personal information being attributed to another person. Do I have a twin I don’t know about? Am I still alive? Or am I losing my mind?

I admit, I have a wee bit of curiosity as to…

Murder at Cuyamaca Beach - Sue McGinty, Author

Murder at Cuyamaca Beach – Review by Martha A. Cheves, Author of Stir, Laugh, Repeat

‘We settled in water up to my waist and turned to face each other. Hands intertwined, we jumped up and down in the waves like idiots in a Monte Python

movie. I relaxed a bit. Moving around definitely made me warmer.

“Oof.” Something hit me, sending a sharp pain into my side. I…

Developing a marketing mindset

Imagine the scene: A crazy friend of mine (let's call him Jody) says I'm too nice, too traditional about marketing my books. He has shamed me into being more bold, so I'm standing across the

street from Harpo Studios in Chicago with the ridiculous goal of getting on the Oprah show. I'm hoping to talk to a producer or cleaning lady about…

Christopher Payne The Gargoyle Prophecies, Part I The Savior

I have been reading much more sci-fi and paranormal then I usually do, I have no idea why. That being said, I thought I would just start to get into a groove and sit back and enjoy the reading. I hit a couple winners

for this week. Today I am featuring Christopher Payne and his debut The Gargoyle Prophecies. Debuts are a

mixed grab bag; this one sits near the top. The plotline is different from

anything I have read or seen about gargoyles. He…

Athena Club Presentation Over

For just a few days, I imagined a well thought out plan for what I was going to do to promote my Civil War book at the Athena Club meeting in Belle Plaine, Iowa last night. That all changed last Tuesday with a sizable dent in my car's driver door. My door won't open until the repair work is done so I'm stuck with driving the car like it is. Until that happy moment when I can get in and out of my car like any other driver, I'm getting in on the passenger side and squeezing between the gear shift… Continue

ISBN and lovely feedback

Today I got an ISBN number to my book that will be soon available in English.

I also got very happy to receive the reader's feedback from a reader to whom I've sent the manuscript for proof reading:

"Your novel is charming, very redemptive and full of symbolism, and I felt quite emotional at the end! I like your cover description of it as a fairytale for grown-ups (I would also include young adults in this category), and especially enjoyed the way some of the characters are… Continue
