Rest In Peace, Rachel

It has been a very difficult few days, our worst fears confirmed. One of my son's college age friends went missing on Wednesday night, and her body was found this morning. She had been kidnapped, robbed and murdered. There are many stories circulating out there, and I'm not entirely sure what the whole truth is. But she had gotten into some trouble in the past year, and had…

A Study in Red - Top 20 Best Seller!

'A Study in Red' has this morning reached the heady heights of #16 in the Amazon.co.uk JTR bestselling listings, it's highest position yet. Yesterday it was at #41, so some serious sales have taken place in the last 24 hours to cause such a meteoric rise up the chart. I never thought my book would ever appear in a Best Seller list of any sort, so I'm more than thrilled with it's performance.

I'm delighted and amazed at such a sudden surge in interest in the novel. I know my… Continue

I love his boldness...and his no-nonsense attitude.

I’m talking about Paul. Is he ever a type A personality! Driven, zealous, committed, tenacious, bold, and often forceful.

To his credit, he exercised all these qualities to win souls for Christ.

Often he moves me with his unwavering faith, and he wins my admiration for his endurance. But sometimes he baffles me with some statements he makes, like this one: “Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ's power may rest on me. That is why,… Continue

Introducing Another Project Helping Military Personnel – Vacations for Veterans

I’m always on the look-out to learn about organizations or projects helping military personnel and their families. In fact, I include several of these on my website www.mrslieutenant.com in a section titled “Support Military Families.” And I blog about other organizations or projects I find.

In the coming weeks I’m looking forward to learning about several new groups as I have found a long list of such organizations on www.armywifetalkradio.com. Yet for now I want to tell you about a… Continue

Middle Class Union: A Revolution to Create Real Change

Middle Class Union: A Revolution to Create Real Change

Nearly everyone has read the "do not buy gas" or which gas companies uses which country's oil postings that have been circulated around the net since the price of gas has started to skyrocket. Neither of them are particular effective. The loss of revenue from one day will not hurt the oil companies, especially when they know it will be made up the next day.

Secondly, oil companies mix and match… Continue

A Glowing Endorsement for A Study in Red

The following message has appeared on the forums at Casebook.com, one of the world's leading sites dealing with research and information on the Jack the Ripper crimes of 1888. The writer of the message is the subscriptions manager of The Whitechapel Scociety 1888, another prestigious organisation which holds regular meetings in London for the purpose of studying the Ripper crimes and Victorian London's history in general. Photos from Bavaria

Hi there!

Well, I’m happy to say that I got many wonderful pictures while visiting Germany this season. I was able to get landscapes, and old castles, and hundreds of pictures of Laura! That should make it easier to illustrate the next book. Right now I’m completing the next story (book 2) and storyboarding at the same time—it’s how I prefer to work. I think I definitely have enough new material for my next two books which was my goal, so I’m glad for that. I also plan to do a little… Continue

Who should die?

This past week we were summoned to a meeting at the Board of Education for what was to be a "Pandemic training." I have to admit, the e-mail didn't spark much interest and I only attended because the subject line said "mandatory." The presenter spoke about the possibility of a pandemic flu that may strike the world due to an increase of the bird flu. From the way she spoke, such a possibility appeared to be imminent. It was not a matter of if it would happen, she said, but when.

Google and Marketing

There are many programs available by Google to assist with marketing.

Keeping track of your news, reviews, and books can be daunting. One way to stay current is to list yourself on Google Alerts. When Google comes across some new information about you, an alert will be sent to your email address. This doesn’t catch everything, but I have found it helpful.

Google Books is a terrific marketing tool because I use it myself. I will rarely buy a book that I can't… Continue
