Country Life and Children

It has finally gotten hot again.  Well, the winter was cold and now the summer is hot.  Who doesn’t get this?  You’d think that human beings were born believing the world revolved around them and that Mom’s could keep the sun from getting too hot or the wind from getting too cool.  Whoops – they do? Well, there’s another misconception blown to the stars.

Thank Heaven…

Alaska, Wisdom Teeth, Funerals, Editing, The Heat, Gardening & Chicks

This Week’s Highlights:

1)  My second son returned from a trip to Alaska, where he was visiting my brother, who is a priest up there.  He had a great time – saw moose (they really do exist), helped at the parish, climbed mountains, met some really nice people, went fishing and drank some great coffee. I told him I wouldn’t meet him at the airport with a to-do list in…

Poem: Christian Ideals

Absolutely essential, for saved people,

is the true concept of Christian ideals.

For they serve as inspirational guidelines,

in the development of holy, inner steel.

These ideals motivate Christians to action,

on behalf of the Christ, within His Will.

In addition, one strives to humbly live,

without the trappings of religious frills.

These principles affect one’s attitude,

in doing what aught to be done in service.

They provide vision with sacred…

Make Your own Good Books Reading List

Every summer I hear the same thing – at least for a while – “I don’t have anything to do.”  I can fix that problem easily enough with a chore list, but another more fun approach is to create a reading list. Since I have children at a variety of ages I have a variety of reading levels to consider, so I make up different lists.  I have one Read-Aloud list for the youngest kids…

Tea Party Time - A Mothers Day Tribute

Welcome to our tea today. Let me pour you a cup. Milk? Sugar? Mothers Day is this coming weekend - I hope you all have a lovely day with your children celebrating you! Today I'm thinking about two characters in my books. Jillian Bradley is a childless widow with only a tiny Yorkie for a companion. What would she be doing on Mothers Day, I wonder. With four children of my own, I've never really thought about how women who have no children might feel on this particular day. Perhaps they focus on… Continue

The Plight Of Christian Authors

In the summer of 2004, I had a startling, life-changing Holy Spirit encounter. Following that encounter, I became a Holy Spirit-inspired writer. I had no previous experience of book publishing, therefore when I completed my first book I had no idea of how and with whom to publish my book.

My first book is a question and answer book with me asking God the questions on behalf of the entire human race and God the Maker providing all the answers. As far as I was concerned, this makes my…
