How to Create an eBook – 5 Simple Steps

E-books are an amazing product that has multiple uses. And, it can be created for FREE, or for a very minimal amount. What else can you create that costs only your time and effort, and sells for whatever the market is willing to pay?

1. Create content

The first step is to create your content; this can be done as a simple word document. The content can be anything you think your readers or target market will want or need. In addition, it can be any length you…

My Library of Book Marketing Resources

I highly recommend the following list of books to help promote and generate social media marketing buzz and (ultimately) revenue for your written works. After procrastinating, and working an extra [part-time] gig, I committed to purchasing at least two per month. It was a gutsy call, but the investment in ones dream is always well worth it!

Writer's Block... How to beat mental lock down!

Writer's Block... How to beat mental lock down!

Nine months ago you came up with a great idea for a romantic comedy  that you pitched to a publisher who was willing to print it.  Like any labor  of  love, you started  this project off with a  mountain load of  enthusiasm, formulating a  clever storyline filled with colorful characters and witty  dialogue. Three hundred and  fifty pages of manuscript…

Smashwords Ebook Sales

I spent this last weekend downloading four of my books to Smashwords.com to be approved and put for sale on the website. It will take a week to find out if the downloads meet the hosts approval. Though they can turn the books into many different formats for different type of ebook readers, the format they wanted for the download was Microsoft document. Took me awhile to figure that one out because I don't have Microsoft. There are many other format guidelines to follow. I had to unpublish and… Continue

How a once broke single dad is self-publishing his way to success

Today I read an inspirational story about a writer who is self-publishing his way to success via Smashbooks, "an e-book publishing and distribution platform for ebook authors, publishers and readers." Brian S. Pratt, writer of fantasy novels and single father of 3, is, as Smashwords founder Mark Coker put it, "the future of publishing."…

Write Your eBook - 6 Great Ways to Find the Time - by Paul Jackson

Busy! Busy! Busy!

What's new? And who isn't busy?

The majority of eBook authors are part-time writers. There are very few professional writers making their living writing non-fiction eBooks. In most cases, the eBook author is a professional with a full-time business or career to run or the author has an interest about which she/he is passionate and is using the eBook as an expression of that passion.

Finding the time to write an eBook among all the other demands made…

Part two of Alex Steele and the Death Dealer available July 15th

(1st excerpt from Dealer of Death)

by Lawrence Johnson Sr.

Two hours later Steele found himself driving through the roughest

neighborhood in the city. No one in their right mind would come down

here alone in the daytime and most cops wouldn't risk traveling through

this part of town late at night but somehow on this dark, quiet night

Alexander Steele seemed to be drawn to it. There was movement in

shadows of the blocks and blocks of abandon…

New Review.

New Review.

'Bloody Ham offers an entertaining combination of an old-fashioned whodunit with characters who are fun to meet. It seems everyone on the film set has something to hide and the side threads are as entertaining as the main, twist-filled plot. In short, the book is delightful and recommended to fans of cosies and traditional mysteries'

Authors need to understand book marketing is different to other marketing

This blog was created to help the many writers understand that they really need to look outside the square.

Authors need good practical advice about book marketing because it is different to regular marketing and cannot be treated the same.

When authors come to me most of them are totally unaware of how the publishing industry works and how difficult it is to actually sell books. Most have never researched the facts before they begin their project. Usually, because they love…
