You Say I'm a Dreamer

Kia ora,

I like the idea that we are all multicultural. I have felt for a long time that I am multicultural and multidimensional. I am a man, a son, a brother, a husband, and a father. I am a gardener, a walker, a swimmer and a talker. I am a songwriter, a singer, a teacher and a learner. I am an artist and a friend. I am a peace worker.

I have lived and worked with the Bedouin in Saudi Arabia and I have experienced their incredible… Continue

2008 Revisited in Book Excerpts

Hi! This month has been terribly hectic! Eleven book edits, with little else being accomplished, other than work and editing (oh, and the gym! I joined a gym and have actually been going, if only to get away from my computer).

These edits are brought on by a very lucky 2008. In Flames, Of Dragons, The Hollowing, GlassWorks, ErRatic, and Emerald City were all released last year.

The sequel to ~In Trysts~…

Thief In the Night ( Excerpt from the book "The Great Invitation")

The Thief in the Night

For you yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night,

Watch; be sober for all that profess to be children of God, followers of Christ must be to this dark world children of light.

And I shout Silence! Let us all give a listening ear,

Can’t you hear the prophecies of the word of God speaking he is near.

Can’t you hear wars and rumors of wars, can… Continue

Dog Torture

Ok. I confess. That was a mean tease. I'd never torture dogs.

Unless you count making them look ridiculous.

If you could use a laugh (and anyone with a 401K these days definitely can!) pop over to my MySpace and enjoy a slideshow of my beloved dogs in pirate costumes. If you have some funny pet costumes to share, please send them to me and I'll add them to the… Continue

Experiencing a simpler life -- if only for a few hours

It was 2:15 AM on a hot summer's night and I was sitting in the living room of my apartment in Scottsdale, Arizona -- with no electricity. I awoke about 10 minutes earlier to total darkness and complete silence. Things that I've always taken for granted weren't working: no air conditioning, no lights, no TV, no internet, no refrigeration, no fans...no...no....no.

Even my emergency back up lights and flash lights weren't working. I'd taken them for granted, too. I had them in my… Continue

Article in 'The Journal of The Whitechapel Society 1888', 'Whodunnit?...I Dunno!"

Soon after the release of my novel 'A Study in Red - The Secret Journal of Jack the Ripper', I was approached by the editor of the Journal of 'The Whitechapel Society 1888' and asked to write an article for their June issue, telling of the genesis of the book. The society, based in London, studies not only the crimes of Jack the Ripper, but the history of Victorian and Edwardian London in general. I felt privileged to be asked to contribute to the journal of this prestigious society, and the… Continue

Win a Chance To Go Back in Time!

Midsummer’s Eve is a time for lovers. They would clasp hands as they jumped over the fires. It was also a time when magic was most potent, a time when the Otherworld is close.

In honor of Midsummer’s Eve, I’m holding a contest for my new release, “A Twist of Fate,” a time travel romance.

All you need to do is watch A Twist of Fate’s book trailer and answer these two Questions:

1. Arianna remembers an eerie prediction form the fortuneteller. What is it?

2.… Continue
