E-class starts soon: Publish That Book: How to Write a Nonfiction Book Proposal That Sells

Let me show you through my intense, 8-week-long workshop how to get a nonfiction book proposal ready for publishers. This is your opportunity to gain a serious business advantage over other writers who will try to wing it. And even if your first book doesn’t sell, you will have the skills and the template to apply to other ideas and other projects. You may even come up with more ideas for more books as you work through this course.

And my workshop is different. I keep the classes small… Continue

Would You Rather Be On Purpose or Perfect?

Be perfect or be on purpose? Which one of these has been “driving your bus” so far? If you or someone you know struggles with perfectionism, can this hold you back from living on purpose?

Ask someone to walk to the moon and you’ll hear, “Not realistic,” as a response. They wouldn’t have a problem giving that answer.

Ask some people to be perfect and you can almost hear the inner and outer dialogue start — “You have no idea how hard I try to be just that.”

What… Continue

Amazon's Kindle Reader

Hi, I'm Charles Harbin, I publish e books on Amazon's kindle. I've got about a hundred titles for sale, none of which I wrote. Whether we like it so much or not the electronic reading device is the read of the future...and it's here now. Kindle or no, some electronic reading device or another is going to become the read of the future. It's good and bad, pro and con, upside and downside, regardless, it's here now and there's no getting away from it. Purchase a book on Kindle and who owns it?… Continue

on the outside of an abusive relationship, looking in

"On the outside of abuse looking in"

Seeing a loved one being abused in a simple situation that we all can turn into a drastic one is sure torment. We can give all the suggestions as to what the abused should but they are the only one that can make that decision. Even though the threat has been a verbal one, I'm on pins and needles every second of the day and night. It is not only their life that may be at stake, mine and my familes life may be also. Our lives and privacy has been… Continue

Poem: Waiting on You

When floating in the sea of despair,

never give up hope, for the Lord is already there.

For in the time of your darkest hour,

you can tap into His Dunamis power.

Addressing Earth's challenges requires a key -

As a child of His, you must yourself see.

To assure that your earnest prayers are heard,

you need to hide in your heart His Holy Word.

For out of your mouth, His Word you should speak,

which demonstrates that Him you truly seek.

For God's… Continue

Who Killed Emmett Till -- Video

Just posted an incredible video at free blogbook, Who Killed Emmett Till? Very historical, includes interview with Mose Wright, Till's uncle. I hadn't seen this video before and it contains excellent footage of interviews showing the life and times of people living in the Mississippi Delta. This would be a good video for school kids to see since it even goes into the trial phase.

This event represents the first time that… Continue

Poem: September 11, 2001

Failing to understand

why our nation is great,

an opportunity was sought

by souls cowardly lying in wait.

Focused on pure evil

as they have continually done,

an unholy attack was unleashed

on a day now known as 9-1-1.

Via the destruction

of New York's "Twin Towers"

the enemy crushed a symbol

of U.S. monetary power.

Beyond the resources to rebuild,

our country operates from a wealthy mindset;

so we can easily… Continue
