For book/ebook authors, publishers, & self-publishers
You say you don't care for Sci/fi. Is it really true? How many times
have you daydreamed about being somebody other then who you
are? Have you ever given yourself a super power? When you answer,
be sure to include even the smallest item.
It's obvious you do enjoy Sci/fi after all. Sci/fi encompasses a very
broad spectrum. It's not just the really far out and bizarre. It takes in
fantasy as well. Science Fiction is anything other then what is real.
For all you die hard anti Sci/fi people, choke!
Who has watched any of the Jane Austin movies and could see them-
selves in any of the parts? Is that real? Are you actually an actress
or actor and have the part? I doubt it. It's Sci/fi ladies, and gentlemen.
All right. Now that we know most of us indulge to some degree in
Sci/fi, let's have fun wtih an exercise. One of the things I really enjoy
about being a writer is the ability to write myself (under the guise of
being one of my characters) into any situation I choose.
Now, on to the assignment. If we were able to rewrite the script of our
lives, how would it turn out? Because we make an attempt, however
insignificant, to keep our feet grounded in reality, we can only write
the basic life, and not the outcome of what we have written.
If, on the other hand, we write the outcome, then we have no control
over how we arrive at that point. Here lies the dilemma. Do we chance
the outcome and enjoy our lives up to that point, or do we go for the
end product and not worry about how we arrived there?
This issue has been debated for many years. Does the end justify the
means, or does the means justify the end? I choose to write the script and
not worry about the outcome. The price, for me, was high but I have no
regrets.
How many women can truly say they were totally lost in their husband's love?
The years I had with him far outweighed a much longer period of time some
others experience. I have been on the precipice and looked down into the
core of life itself. How could I possibly wish for any more from life?
For anybody interested, I have a segment, actually the epilog, from my soon to be
completed novel (my Auto-Sci/fiography) entitled, "The Mystic Fields." I have
changed a few things to present the short story as a stand alone product. You're here
with me. Your fingers are already on the keys. Start writing your own Sci/fiography.
I'd love to hear it. E-mail me at ddinpaidra@yahoo.com with the results.
I'll probably post my story soon. I won't say you'll enjoy it but the truth isn't always, well,
you'll understand. I strongly dislike this Dell computer. I'm a Mac girl for the simple reason
they are sooooo much easier to deal with. This post looks really screwed up. I apoligize for
that.
