My cancer journey

Usually sentiments are, “Cancer always happened to others”…it will knock at our doors, is something, we find very hard to accept.

Ovarian Cancer! Cancer! Cancer!

I felt sick…scared …in a state of shock…I tried to control my wayward emotions…I sat there alone in my thoughts…as I found my world falling apart.

My inside started churning as realization hit me that our little world, our dreams and our life was tumbling down and was in ruins.

I did not know how to put my…

Real Books

Although it continues to surprise me, I'm often in conversations that run something like this...

Friend: Your novel sounds interesting, where can I buy it?

Me: Amazon, Apple, Nook, Kobo.

Friend: I don't like e-books, I like real books.

Me:

While I worry a bit about the trees, the price of on demand publishing (USA distribution only) has dropped to the point where I can produce…

Am I creating the next generation of Elliot Rodgers?

"Why are you glamorizing murder and torture, violence and rape and serial killers?" I'm constantly being asked these questions from critics, no scratch that, people that absolutely hate my books--Madson in particular. Some of them even hate me. Why do you think these subjects are funny? Killing women, dissecting babies. Hurting elders. Why--why--why??? What kind of role model or example are you setting for younger kids? They've even brought my…

The Howling Cliffs - Mary Deal, Author

The Howling Cliffs - Review by Martha A. Cheves, Author of Stir, Laugh, Repeat; Think With Your Taste Buds; A Book and A Dish

Ka'imi's ears rose rigid.  She gave a short whine.  The howling of dogs came from a distance.  It seemed to fill the valley.  It was the howls of two dogs.  No wonder the locals wanted to ban noisy dogs from the…

Poem: Spirit Filled

We’re not to vex or grieve the Holy Spirit;

instead, we need His anointing on our lives

to spiritually achieve personal victories

and that faith in God- is continually revived.

Being rooted and established in His Love,

we can be dispensers of the Spirit’s fruit-

Manifesting these traits on a daily basis

should be behind the desire of a Holy pursuit.

Peace, Patience, Love, Goodness, Faithfulness,

Joy, Kindness, Gentleness and…

A Must Read for Authors and Book Writers Who Are Broke

Ever wonder why so many people believe you can’t make money as a writer or an author? The truth is that it’s never been easier than it is today to make six and seven figures as an author! The problem is that most people write books without considering the marketing piece.

I wrote …

Reviews for sale! - Never pay for a review!

I’ve touched on this subject many times but it warrants repeating. Never pay someone to read and review one of your books. Paid reviewers give glowing reports on the books they read even if the books are terrible. Why? Because they want your repeat business. Would you pay someone a second time if they gave your book a bad review the first time? Of course…

Back in Harness

We’ve just arrived back from a very enjoyable trip to UK, happy now that we have chosen an area we want to go back to when we finally return to the UK later this year. It will be Pagham: about six miles south of Chichester in West Sussex. It’s an area we are familiar with, and close to family. Not too close though. We can’t do anything until my specialist at the hospital gives me the good news about my treatment, but now at least we can talk more positively about where we’ll be living and…

A Native’s Tongue by Michael D. Dennis

In Michael D. Dennis’s touching new novel, A Native’s Tongue, a young man, torn between two women, struggles to find his way in the world.

As I walked out under the Los Angeles sky, the possibility of becoming something more than a short order cook, living in the valley, and resenting my dysfunctional family occurred to me…
