If I ever needed something: a ride to the airport, help with a flat tire, an opinion on a career issue, even a pair of extra hands on moving day, I know he would be there. However, there's one thing I've really noticed about him, and many others I'm acquainted with: their communication skills have fallen victim to our non-personal technological age.
Here's an example: I was sitting at home the other evening watching the NBA…

How often do you ask for what you want? Better yet, do you get what you ask for? We as women have a module on the power and importance of asking for what you want. It usually brings up lots of memories of being a “good girl” as a kid, or of hearing parents say “it’s not polite to ask, just wait till you are given”.
Most women are hesitant, you can translate that to compliant; to be pleasers rather than truth tellers.

Many light years ago, upon the planet Gelati, a young mother and father tucked their beloved son within a womb-like capsule. On either side of him rested a microphone and a strange looking gadget that would later be known as a Kindle. With final kisses upon the cheek and forehead, the mother and father gently and firmly latched the capsule’s door. With a click, clack and roaring sound, the engine of the capsule was started and launched within space. Traveling through planets,…

I'm an old-fashioned type of gal. I like to read a book the physical way. I love the feel of a book between my hands, and the smell of the pages when it's brand new. A bit like the way people go wondrous over the smell of a new car. I probably won't read an e-book. Walking Away
There are no rewards for walking away,
And only through staying brings a brighter day.
Patience, endurance, preservation and resolution,
Is the only sure way and the only solution.
There are no rewards for walking away,
Why does it appear to be easier than stay?
We give our love, our secrets, our heart,
Only to leave and be so far apart.
There are no rewards for walking…

Getting my fix of Maynard always puts a smile on my face. My wife has really gotten into him too. The dialogue Benjamin Sobieck has come up with for Maynard Soloman is so unique and captivating it is hard not to just like the character but to love him. I have been fortunate to have had the author on my blogtlak show The G-ZONE a number of times now; please go back into the show’s archives to enjoy one of the interviews. I think you will quickly find out where Maynard gets his sense of…
