David Wood was 10 years old when the war broke out. His father, Samuel, had moved the family from Ohio to Kansas in 1854 to help “Free Staters” keep slavery out of the territory. The elder Wood forged a reputation as the “Fighting Quaker.” Growing up surrounded by hostility, it was natural for David to feel ready to march off with the troops when his father became lieutenant colonel of the 6th Missouri Cavalry in 1861. - See more at:…Continue

I was born and raised in Sparta, Illinois into a family of seven. It was the 1950s and things were much simpler then. No home computers, Facebook, Twitter, cell phones, etc. Sparta was then and has always been a neat little community.
The citizens of Sparta enjoy life in a small town and value family and friends. We look for the positive in life, help each other out, and even go to church together. It is a quiet community full of hard working, caring, and family-centered…Continue

O My Lord, greatly blessed are You!
I’m thankful and trying to express
the growing gratitude within my soul;
however, mere words lack the finesse
to exalt Your full grandeur… properly!
You are my sun and protective shield!
Let your righteousness flood my soul;
unto You alone, will my spirit yield.
Don’t let my ignorance and sad sighing
imply a lack of personal satisfaction;
I’m joyful and pleased from accepting-
Your Son’s, eternal…

Do you really want to become a foster parent?
Remember that becoming one is not an easy feat. The responsibilities will be challenging and overwhelming. Foster children need extra nurturing and attention because of what they’ve been through in the past, so who knows, you might even have to sacrifice a little of your lifestyle to become a good mother or father.
If you still have doubts, don’t sign the foster parent papers. Don’t let the child suffer from your indecision. But if…Continue

To this day, I continue to evolve. I am coming to know my authenticity; that I am a radiant and an infinite being not bound by culture, dogma, and worldly rules that define and confine who I am. I truly trust the impulses and the calls to action that sound from deep within myself. This trust has encouraged me to step forward and serve self, community, country, and even the planet with pure love and wisdom without expectation of rewards, recognition, or reciprocal action. - See more at:…Continue

When we look all around us everything seems to be falling to pieces; the economy, families and nations. This is so because we are moving away from the sure foundation; that sure foundation is Jesus Christ. Psalm 11:3, states “if the foundations be destroyed; what can the righteous do?” We are doom for destruction if we turn away from the biblical foundations upon which every nation and family were built and that foundation is Jesus Christ.
We have remove the foundation of godliness,…Continue

I’ve been an artist almost all my life, beginning when I was introduced to oil painting as a teenager at The Royal Ontario Museum in Toronto. I remember so well painting the face of a young man who sat for us. I’d never lifted a brush before, but for some miraculous reason, after a brief lesson from the teacher, I got a perfect likeness. I then went on to study portrait painting throughout my school years and by the age of 25, I was a pretty popular portrait painter, more or less the…Continue

As is often the case with other Edgar Allan Poe stories, the first-person narrator in “The Pit and the Pendulum” is unnamed, and what he has done, and whether he is guilty of a wrongdoing or not, is not known. As we are introduced to the beginning of this particular story, we soon learn of the horrifying dilemma faced by the teller of the tale; in this case, the sufferings of unrelieved mental torture. - See more at:…Continue

Can you tell the difference between lust and love?
Well, lust is all about SEX. Lust is when your genitals seize control of your brain and make you feel this intense physical attraction to someone. It makes you feel the need to get that person into the sack so you can do the things you fantasized about with her. Sexual attraction and desire = lust. It is our primal urge to procreate. Picturing someone naked and imagining yourself doing things to her is lust.…Continue

The interview on Angel radio went well. I don’t know when it will be live on air, but it will be shared around on my blog and other social media. Monday evening was a photo shoot with the CHINDI group. It was quite an event in a way. The shoot was supposed to be organised in such a way that we all knew when we were due to have our pictures taken. In the end it was a glorious kind of melee where we all had individual shots, then a cluster of group shots.…Continue
