It happened so fast

The elderly lady seated in a wheelchair spoke the above words as she was being interviewed by a reporter outside a bank that had been seized on Friday. Her sentiments echoed mine and, I'm sure, the rest of the population, as we watched this financial debacle being played out. As both houses of Congress scrambled to come up with some sort of a "rescue plan" to save our near-death economy, I asked myself how much longer do we have?

And I wasn't thinking about a bailout, handout or… Continue

Back to Life and Work

After a wonderful time at the Conflux 5 writer’s conference in Canberra (Australia) followed by a lovely tour around southern New South Wales and the mountainous regions of northern Victoria, I am well and truly back home.

Australia has some truly magnificent and beautiful landscapes. Never have I felt more humble than while standing on the coast, looking out to the ocean or standing amongst the tallest mountains of Victoria. These amazing parts of nature have been here since long… Continue

There are 494 books listed inthe category and 'A Study in Red' is this morning at #9, beating it's previous best position of number ten. At one time the book had sliupped down the chart to the thirties and i'm delighted that it has once again climbed to the higher reaches of the Ripper chart. You… Continue

Days of Our Lives

For generations Days of Our Lives has been not only much loved but the top rated Daytime soap, being the leader in suspense, drama, romance, and comedy, as well as social issues. As the sand fell through the hour glass, we laughed, cried and waited with baited breath for Monday as the cliffhanger left us dangling on Friday. We had a our favorite heroes and villains--couples we cheered for and those we knew who were doomed for failure. When it became clear that the writers no longer had a clear… Continue

FREE PROMOTION OP. FOR SPIRITUAL/SELF-HELP AUTHORS

Dear Friends,

I was talking to Ken MacLean and we came up with an idea to help promote spiritual/self- growth books for the holiday season. As we all know, people are frightened and nervous about the current state of world affairs. In many of our books we try to show people that you can rise above the appearances of any negative situation and create your own peaceful reality.

People need our books!!

Therefore, on November 14th All Things That Matter Press, my… Continue

Potentially stupid advice

A blogger recently posted the following blog entry about my book, 1001 Ways to Market Your Books:

But the main purpose of today's blog entry is to disagree with potentially dangerous advice. In the section on getting book reviews, John urges that writers "send books as early as possible -- preferably four months in advance of the book's publication date."

I can't see how it's possible to schedule when (let alone if) a book review will appear. I'd sure hate to…

PRAY FOR ME

"NEWS YOU CAN USE"

SOUL FOOD

Then Jesus told his disciples a parable to show them that they should always

pray and not give up.

Luke 18:1

Please keep the following people in prayer and even if your name or your loved ones name is not on the list, just call it out as you're praying. Our Father knows what we're in need of before we even ask. Therefore ask, believe, and we shall receive. Keep your thoughts positive and Jesus will complete your recipe.… Continue

HEARING MY CRY

"NEWS YOU CAN USE"

SOUL FOOD

Jesus did not let him, but said, "Go home to your family and tell them how much the Lord has done for you, and how he has had mercy on you."

Mark 5:19

All believers, come here and listen, let me tell you what God did for me. I called out to him with my mouth, my tongue shaped the sounds of music. If I had been cozy with evil, the Lord would never have listened. But he most surely did listen, he came on the double when he heard my… Continue

New Review for Haunted Richmond and a Radio Interview October 14th Too

I got a super review for HAUNTED RICHMOND in Haunted Times Magazine, Vol. 3, issue 3, Winter 2009. here's what the reviewer wrote:

When I thought of Richmond, Virginia, thoughts of the Confederacy, the Civil War and Edgar Allen Poe started to dance through my mind; a visit would be a historians dream. Yet, after reading Pamela Kinney’s Haunted Richmond, I realized this trip could even more interesting than I originally imagined.

Throughout this well-crafted maze of the…

Inside Realms: Essence of Enchantment

A collection of stories do not a novel make. Yet never claiming to be a novel, the stories in this collection do their best to allude to novels in process. Into the swirl we go as A.F. Stewart creates a mélange of characters and locales with such random precision and passion borne of peculiar winds that one is sure of having sighted a pure spirit of the fantasy realm. One to whom the fantasy language is the native tongue. How does she do it? Oh, we can guess and speculate and conjecture to… Continue
