Predictions for 2015

No one can predict the future. Only God knows the future. Still, every year, people make all sorts of predictions about the coming year. I don’t make predictions. I don’t feel qualified to do so. Besides, usually only about half of the predictions made come true, meaning anyone has a 50-50 chance of making a true prediction.

2015

Here are a few predictions I have seen for…

Red Paradise: First Father, A Vampire Awakens

Red Paradise: First Father, A Vampire Awakens

By Donald W. Atchison Jr.

Sacramentum  (Chapter 1)

“You are the human…” The voice was steeped with authority, and reverberated off the walls of the dark cave.

A small fire provided the only light where an old man sat hunched in bearskin clothing.  “And you are not,” he replied with a humorous chuckle.

“This world continues to…

Looking Ahead

As the old year succumbs to Father Time, so we all look forward to what the following year might hold for us all. I’m no different and tend to feel a sense of optimism as the New Year approaches. This time last year I was in the middle of chemo therapy, living in Spain and wondering what the future held for me. Now we are living in England and I have no worries about my condition. We are settled into our new life and I have great hopes for my continuing progress in the book world. I have a…

Uber-Autographed Book

UBER-AUTOGRAPHED

A book is uber-autographed.

What is an uber-autographed book?

A book is uber-autographed when it was signed (autographed) by its author –twice or more – in different venues at different dates.   The book may be uber-autographed more than twice, say three times (or more).

A book signed by its author has an increased value to book collectors.

Book uber-signing in two venues or more adds value because of…

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year

Wishing all a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

Merry Christmas!

This year has been a bit of a roller coaster trying to discover how to mother my eight children while we all learn to accept my husband’s and their father’s death.  It has been a time of trial and error, a time of experimentation, a time of wonderful successes and a few wobbly failures.  But through it all, we have learned to care for each other more deeply and with greater sensitivity.

I have learned that I cannot do everything I want to do.  In fact, I can’t go to the store, teach…

Writing Therapy

A nice gift that you might think about giving a relative is writing a short memoir of something you have done. Sometimes an older person like myself thinks they would like to pass on an adventure you once had or information about a relative from the past.  It doesn't have to be a book.  Many people leave a family member just a little notebook or a journal telling about an occasion.  If it is to be a gift, tie a ribbon around it. Someone in your family will enjoy it.
