V.B. Rosendahl's Juvenile Novel--Fantastic Read!

V.B. Rosendahl's new novel 'Bitter Tastes', Tween Mystery (ages about 8-14), available on amazon.com.

As I wrote in my summary, this book I picked up because I'd read such a fine piece of fiction from this new press. I bought it for my neices, twins and thought I'd read it first. I wasn't intending to review it but I was really excited by finding such a fine piece of fiction and that in a nutshell explains how this book ended up being reviewed by me. If I find a good book, I want to… Continue

Kate Rizor's Contemporary Romance--Amazing Read!

Kate Rizor's Contemporary Romance by Veronica Grant House, republished with permission

To this day, I still do not know who gave me this book. It has a big blue cover with a gorgeous front design on it.

Then, I opened it. I read and read and read and read this book. I think supper burned but oh well because I wasn't going to put this book down.

I brought this book to my book club meeting and of course, we assigned it a date. It was totally amazing because most… Continue

Using Online Press Releases

When trying to get word out on the street about a book signing or event, consider sending out online press releases. You'd think that people would read them and they do of course but ultimately, it makes you a searchable subject. Many allow you to put in keywords. It's a way for more links to come up with you in a typical search engine search.

But if you really want to get something out of your press releases, find the media around the book signing area or even in the State or a…

Websites

If you're looking for a cheap way to get a website up, go to zoomshare.com . They give you several backgrounds. A promotional stratergy I use with websites in general is having one main website but individual websites that give some information and link back to the main one.

The interesting thing about zoomshare is that you can click in one of their sections to put yourself on google. Within a few days of doing so, your site does show up. In the photo section, you can put up…

How To Market Fiction Novels When Everybody Pays Attention to Non-Fiction

I read a lot on the internet about book marketing. And I'm game to try anything that makes sense. So I was reading something lately that said to pull out little bits from the fiction to sell it. Fiction is really hard to promote through non-traditional channels but dealing with the reality of how good a sale on your website is versus one that has gone through many hands, well...a person has to keep at it.

So as some of you know, I am promoting others novels. We are a publishing…

Ideas from This Group That Worked

I have marketed to libraries through email and fax before. But not a whole lot came of it, though I did get orders through library distributors. The first time I received a purchase order and I was a bit stupified and phoned them right away to ask what it was. It looked odd because it didn't have prices. This was on the first book we had ever published so that was great but still, I asked if I had to give a discount. They said no. They mark up the books they buy for libraries. So ever since…
