Hello readers, as usual it has been a busy month. The Sleep book launch was held today, and was an enjoyable morning with a good turnout. For those of you who couldn’t make it, you can check out a photo composite here. There’s also a piece in the Lake Macquarie News. My almost obsessive attempts to court the media has been amazingly fruitful, but often a little surprising, with the phone ringing at strange unprepared-for hours, and me saying all kinds of absentminded things while doing the usual plethora of jobs at once – cooking (and occasionally burning) dinner while talking to ABC FM, wiping my daughter’s bottom while talking to Cumberland papers, picking up costumes off the floor and breaking up a fight between my boys while trying to be smooth to an unexpected visiting photographer. I asked for it, so I’m not (at all) complaining. I even got asked for my autograph at the grocery store – which made me stupidly happy, even though the person asking didn’t have one of my books in her hand at the time (or I would have been even more stupidly happy). I’ve looked at whether you should turn your nose up at best seller lists for Blog Critics, talked about performance poetry for Spoken Word Blog, had a detailed interview and excerpt in Twisted Tongue Issue 7, interviewed by Yvonne Perry on the Writer’s in the Sky podcast, interviewed at All Fiction Books, and interviewed by OhMyNews International. More soon (just gotta go break up those fights again). Maggie
