After publishing two consecutive books in the past four months that deal with the subject of business and people who are successful at making money (Pecking Order - September 2008 and The Equation - January 2009) and with the state of the world economy being what it is, I was asked the following question in a recent interview with the METRO newspaper staff to be published and distributed around the city streets of New York, Philly and Boston:
METRO - The world is mired in a nearly… Continue

Change is a wonderful thing. I consider myself a Change Agent. As a Life Coach it is my duty to assist and teach clients to embrace change. Change reminds me of a song called, Wake Up Everybody. Remember? It is that old school Harold Melvin & Blue Notes classic. You know the lyrics sing along with me:
Wake up everybody no more sleeping in bed.
No more backward thinking time for thinking ahead.
The world has changed so very much from what it us to…

I'm betting they will - and that us authors should keep our ear to the ground as it unfolds - and perhaps suggest how we think authors can support book sellers in selling more books. What do YOU think? Here's
the news.

I received positive responses from two potential publishers this week. Both are interested in my mss. and included some advice for re-writes, "par for the course." Some of the synthesized comments included:
- Plot too complicated
- Plot too simple
- Too much dialogue

- Too many characters
- Needs more characters
- Moves too quickly from one scene to the next
- Moves too slowly from one scene to the next
- Not enough…

I encourage any who is publishing your book for the first time to work hard to find someone who will review your book. I now know how important it is to seek book reviews before you get published. I can't stress it enough. Lessons learned.

Giving someone all your love is never an assurance that they will love you back. Don't expect love in return; just wait for it to grow in their heart; but if it doesn't, be content that it grew in yours.

Bathroom Strangler is my new thriller that will be released on January 27, 2009. Here is a little of what it is about. Tim Thompson isn't the kind of guy you would like to meet. He drinks, smokes, lies, steals, cheats. He is a rapist and murderer. After having a re-occurring nightmare about his mother's death, he sets out to find her killer. In the process, he meets Alexandria, and everything changes. She is beautiful and he falls in love, but she has no clue who he really is. There is one…

Hidden Passages - Tales to Honor the Crones by Vila SpiderHawk © 2007
Vanilla Heart Publishing ISBN 978-0-97965445-6-5 262 pages $15.99 (U.S.)
The subtitle of this book, "Tales to Honor the Crones", gave me a false impression. A collection of stories about crones should be about the end of life, but these stories are full of life. They are vivid, arresting, and entertaining.
Oh, there is death…
