I've just found out that one of my short stories, "Granny O'Toole's Recipe" has won first place in the March short story contest sponsored by SWSilverlark Publications. It will be in the March issue of Fantasy Gazetteer.
http://www.fantasygazetteer.com. It's a must read for all of us who still have a bit of the "Auld Sod" in us. Happy St. Patricks Day to all.

The year is 2040. We have people living on Mars, but haven't sorted out life on earth yet. To the boy washing windscreens at the traffic signal, it could just as well be 1940.
The boy is Pepe. He doesn't know who his real parents are. His 'grandma' dies in a slum fire, and he is left to fend for himself and his grandma's biological granddaughter, Po, whom he…

Everybody has creative ideas and dreams. It's the courageous few, through their determination and perseverance who turn dreams into tangible realities, with sustainable consumer needs, and/or purposes in industry or the marketplace.
Playing it safe and doing nothing usually ends with unfulfilled dreamers, looking back over their lives, asking the question, "What if?" What if I followed my bliss and took a chance?…

My Transition of Victory…
The time is far spent…and my strength ebbs. My cunning and wit wanes occasionally and my endurance experiences periods of cessation.
Over half a century and where have all the seasons gone? My sunset is soon forthcoming and should be anticipated with responsible maturation and acceptance. Sadness is an obvious by-product of this must happen fact of life. Let my words be my epitaph and be a resounding and resilient light house of hope and…

The number one reason readers buy a new book is because they are familiar with the author’s work, have enjoyed them before and can reasonably expect that their hard earned money will not be wasted.
This is fine if you are an established NY Times Bestselling author with a huge following. If you’re a relative newcomer like me (…

Women work, clean, cook, take care of children, spouses, parents, pets - but sometimes forget to take care of themselves. Their knowledge about health often comes from a two minute news report or short article. But every week there is some new research report telling us what we need to do. What we have done is compile a concise, easy reference book for women who are too busy to spend hours searching for this valuable information. We want to help you…

Kingdom Wealth: The Power to Get It
This book is a “how-to” manual in procuring wealth, strictly on biblical tenets—an exposé on Deuteronomy 8:18 and related biblical passages. God’s people are instructed to remember (Heb. zakar meaning to “treat most worthy”]) Him, since He is the One to give them the power (Heb. koch) to get wealth. The word koch is the foundation of this revolutionary concept. It is fascinating, carrying eight nuances (according to the Brown, Driver and Briggs…

I was at a book signing a few weeks ago and a woman told me about her daughter who likes to write.
"Is she here with you?" I asked.
"Yes. She's looking around."
"Please tell her to come by and say hello. What's her name?"
"Amanda."
A few minutes later, a tentative pre-teen was hovering nearby. "You're Amanda, aren't you." I smiled so as not to freak the poor kid out. She nodded shyly. "I understand that you like to write." She nodded again.…
