I set up a book signing in Florida. Well, actually I didn't set it up. I have this funny childhood friend and he set it up. He went to a lot of trouble for me, so I drove for four days with my family to go and set up a puppet show/chess lesson using lots of animal chess openings for the kids in Orlando. My husband put on a gorilla suit. I know, I know, it was worth it because we sold five books. That's five! It would have been six had the Orlando Public Library purchased a copy.
Most people go to work day after day and there are things that must be completed. Plus there are new tasks being handed out for that day. It can be stressful because there are deadlines and not everything runs smoothly all of the time. So there may be some frustrations or annoyances that occur. This is simply part of business and will occur from time to time.
There are some ways to lessen the stress that occurs not only for a manager but for the manger's employees. The easiest things… Continue

A good friend said to me: “Why would anyone be on Twitter?” Mind you, he’s never been on Twitter and he doesn’t know a thing about it. But he’s a successful lawyer and thinks he knows what’s what.
In reply, I’ve decided to come up with a list of answers for when someone asks you this question:
1. Getting news updates before the news media
2. Asking technical software/hardware questions and getting answers
Is it just my imagination that every agent I query is simply too busy to listen to what I have to say. This also means that they are all making too much money to consider making any more. Maybe I should become an agent instead of write books.
I know that most authors have the same problem. You just have to keep on truckin' and not let it get to you. However, it should not be that way. All we want is to be heard by someone and not just brushed aside like some trash out there.
I know I… Continue
After university I got my dream job, working with horses. All was going well until December 1994 when my life changed forever. Crossing the road on the way to work, I was hit by a car... I 'died'! Since being hit by that car I went through a period of great change and learnt many things; I had experiences I did not understand and saw things mankind maybe should not see. I started writing these things down. I will never preach to anyone, but what started as an autobiography about my life, my… Continue

Over the last few weeks I have seen first hand how the economy and the increased use of the internet for book purchasing is effecting the normal author book signing events.
As anybody who has checked out my interviews, reviews or heard me on the radio knows, I am a great believer in the fact that the way forward for… Continue

We've finished the teacher's guide and the student workbook, and now all that remains is to write our short book on writing short stories. This will be for the use of the person conducting the creative writing course that we plan to sell at the California Homeschool Network show at the end of this month. I'm excited!

Podiobooks.com does afford the listener the opportunity to make a donation, of… Continue
