The Ezekiel Code now 5 months in "Top 100"

Wow! Back in October of 2009 I blogged about the Kindle edition of my novel, The Ezekiel Code, hitting amazon's "Top 100" best seller list. I didn't know how long it would last. I was just thrilled it had made it that far -- even if it only lasted for a day! Now, here it is February, 2010 and… Continue

The Master Artisan

Joy and I stood before the artisan anticipating his newest creation. The old, bearded man picked up a small, clear, glass tube with callused hands and gently stroked it. The two-thousand degree fire spewed from the dragon's mouth and…

Poem: Green Card

Like many other Christians,

I’m living here on Earth temporarily;

ask to see my “spiritual green card” -

For my citizenship is with Christ’s eternity.

Being a stranger in a foreign land

makes me a heavenly ambassador,

serving a lifelong assignment

on a Godly pilgrimage as His sojourner.

Earth is not my final home -

For I strive to overcome temptations of Earth;

found in my identity with Christ

is the true…

Blog 2

In my last blog I said I'd say something about myself and the book I'm now trying to promote.

First, about myself (with reference to writing): I've written a non-fiction best-seller in India on the philosophy of an Indian saint named Swami Vivekananda; a 5,000-word story of mine features in PRIZEWIINING ASIAN FICTION (published by Hong Kong University Press); and I've just completed co-authoring (along with one other writer) two volumes of essays for Macmillan…

Getting it back

Since my wife's Mom passed it has been hard to get started or rather restarted on the project. It seems the writing has become darker-more foreboding. I think it's a good thing since I have developed my demon priest into something no one wants to meet in a dark alley. I expect to continue more on a daily basis-called manning up to the task regardless of that which surrounds me. There's still no joy with the first book-I don't know what I'm doing wrong except with working full time at the…

I'm Right even when I'm wrong

An excuse is usually given in order to justify an action or to shift the blame for a deed done. A kid forgets his homework and the kid tells the teacher his dog ate it. This practice is known as the blame game or

passing the buck and it can be traced back to the original man and woman Adam

and Eve. When God asked Adam about the sinful act committed in the garden Adam

pointed…

Holiday Book Promotion During the Off-Season

Do you have a holiday book and wonder how to market and promote it other times of the year? If it's a Christmas book, declare Christmas in July. Put together a contest/drawing and fill a basket full of Christmas and current holiday goodies.

Do leprechauns celebrate Christmas? Have a combo St. Patrick's Day/Christmas prize basket.

Snow in the Summer?

It doesn't seem like the most wintery/Christmasy time of year. You could make a combo basket/bag full of Fourth of July… Continue

A Final End-product!

The proper use of your time after you think you have finished writing your novel is of the utmost importance. Once it has been proofread, edited - oftentimes more than twice - then submitted to a publisher, patience surely maintains it virtuousity. I know. I just went through these motions. With that in mind, I am glad to share the finished project with…

Has Approval Been Your “Currency” Exchange in Life, Business, and Relationships?

All the strategies, systems, programs, books you’ve invested in that haven’t shifted your prosperity or life experience may have missed one key point. You may not realize approval, rather than value-for-value, is your imprinted “currency” exchange.

Expectations and limiting beliefs introduced to us in early years become invisible residents in our non-physical “bones.” They also morph—change form and function—as we grow into adults.

When we’re children and we experience… Continue

Why I Am Here

Hello! My name is Gautam Sen. I have just begun blogging. It's not half as common in India, where I come from, as I suspect it is in the West. Perhaps I wouldn't have thought of blogging at all, but for the circumstances .... I'm a writer (apart from being a teacher), but till now it's been the old-fashioned way: I haven't had to concern myself with book promotion!

Recently, however (25th January 2010, to be precise), ireadiwrite Publishing (Canada) electronically published a…
