First Author Signing

My first official author signing event will be on June 24th in Denver at the International New Age Trade Show. This would appear to be the best market to introduce my book since they're already interested in alternative health ideas. I'm stepping into a fascinating new world!

Cheryl Kaye Tardif on the Cover of 24 HRS

Ok, I received a few phone calls this morning from people who saw the COVER of 24 Hrs. It's 90% me...my photo...God help me.

Ok, for someone with a rotten flu and a fever of 104 on Tylenol 2's and decongestants, I guess it could be worse.

The article is short and sweet on page 5, but I have to say I've seen myself everywhere this morning when I went out. The 24 boxes are on every corner about every 3 blocks, serving over 1 million people.

Let's hope all the big stars… Continue

The fda is the industry that in this country that makes sure all medications that are available for hman consuption have been properly studied and tested before they became available to the general public. Secutity Please..

Have any of you ever noticed that many of the entrances to our malls and office buildings are surroundded by large baracades. These baracades where set up to protect these structures from terrorist attacks. Now inside the malls and the office buildings are the security gaurds who are doing more that policing rowdy teenagers and running after…

I Swear

I Swear

The bible is not the only book that will be used when you are being sworn in at court. A man in North Carolina was recently granted by the courts to be able to swear in using the Koran as the book that he laid his hands on to take his oath. The ACLU took…

The Art Of Zero Resistance

Yesterday

I was reading and relaxing on my hammock when, Susie, one of my V.I.P

coaching clients called. She quietly said, "Jen, you won't believe

what I just attracted." Turns out she was invited to be a guest

on the "Wake Up with Whoopi" show. This was this 3rd call

of this kind I received from her. She is an attraction magnet!

Let me give you a little background about Susie... Three months…

Confessions of a sales pitch Junkie

It often seems today that in order to make it in todays competitive world of publishing, it's no longer enough to be just a good writer, you've also got to be passionate about and committed to, marketing your own works.

First of all, unless your John Grisham or JK Rowling, even the largest publisher is going to expect you to carry your own torch. And it can't be done halfheartedly either - plodding through it while thinking all…

The Case For Cognitive Critters

Ok, I'll admit it. I lack what it takes to write serious literary fiction. Stephen King settled that issue for me in his book, On Writing, when he said, "You will never be a great writer unless you are born with it." Great writers must be passionate about something, right? I'm only passionate about things I shouldn't eat or drink.

So the arrogance of someone so lacking as myself, offering up a thesis that literary fiction doesn't sell and inferring that cognitive critters…

Respect Your Elders

I do not if any of you have seen the recent attacks on two of our most precious resources. There were two stories recently in the news in which two elderly people were beaten up and robbed. The first was an elderly woman in her eighties who had her purse stolen and the second was a ninety two year old man who had been car jacked. The footage of the attacks was hideous. My first initial…

A Successful Signing Means Greeting Everyone

This past weekend I left the big city of Edmonton for the smaller city of Red Deer, Alberta. I went there for a book signing at Chapters. The welcome and support I received there was phenomenal. God bless those smaller cities!

My husband drove the 1.5 hours there and back, so I was able to do something I rarely have time for—read a book. I’m reading Luanne Rice’s Angels All Over Town, and is it ever good! We arrived in Red Deer early (I hate to rush) and I wasn’t expecting things to…

Flags of Our Fathers

The movie, "Flags of Our Fathers," cast a whole new light on an encounter a couple of decades ago in San Francisco's North Beach Area. I didn't know it at the time, but I met a man in a cozy Italian restaurant that arguably changed the history of the world.

You can read the story behind the book, the movie, and my encounter with Joe Rosenthal at www.publishersmarketplace.com/members/billstephens

Carter

I am sure you all have either read about the comments that former president Jimmy Carter made about President Bush calling it the worst administration in history. Most of the people that I spoke with whose race, gender, age and economic status were different totally agreed with President Carters statement. I read in the news today that Carter later corrects his statement and said the…

CIPA - A resource for authors in Colorado

I just attended the CIPA (Colorado Independent Publishers Association) meeting yesterday. Held once a month in Denver, this group is a great resource for authors in Colorado. It actively promotes independent publishers, self-published authors and others involved in the business of books.

The expertise and depth of experience in this organization is amazing. If you are an author, or want to be an author, publisher or otherwise involved in books in Colorado, you need to join this…

Author Bio

In a personal session with a medium in 2003, author Robert Schwartz was astonished to speak with nonphysical beings who knew everything about him - not just what he had done in life, but also what he had thought and felt. They told him that he had planned many of his most difficult experiences before he was… Continue
