Just today ---

I finished a report I wanted to share with my business leaders about Multi-streams of Income. You can get a copy of the report at http://jvpublications.com/marketing.htm

I'm actually rather excited about this one. I've been putting out reports and articles online for several months now, and this one has been a high-impact seller in just one day. When I checked my sales earlier I was amazed at the number already sold, and not even…

Editor Who Requested My Proposal Didn't Remember Who I Was

The publishing industry amazes me that they're able to turn a profit, even as long as I've been involved with it. I called a publisher today to find out the status of a proposal that they had requested. The Executive Editor didn't know who I was, didn't recognize my book proposal, and didn't know where it was. She then asked me, "Are you in a hurry to get it back?" Well, yes, another publisher is interested and I need it.

And this is a recognized industry leader in the quilt book… Continue

Vision

Recently I was the keynote speaker at the Blind Merchants Association Convention. The organizer of the event asked me if I would attend the Women's Breakfast the next morning and maybe say a few words about entrepreneurship. I eagerly agreed to do so.

I don't know what I expected, but I didn't expect the hotel to serve a buffet style meal to a group of blind women. I watched in absolute awe as these women with guide dogs and canes successfully maneuvered the buffet line, serving… Continue

The Two-Tuba Switch - New Release

I am pleased to announce that The Two-Tuba Switch by Sarah Itzakhi and illustrated by Dave Hill has been released by ToysNTales. This is a book that I enjoyed editing and designing. Working with British illustrator Dave Hill was a treat.

Description: Mitch, our hero, is shy. He switches into a tuba to hide, and then he embarks on a journey to befriend his shyness. This adventurous story, spectacularly

illustrated, lets children know the abilities they… Continue

Going Down for the Last Time

My very first blog post on the book marketing network, and what am I doing? I'm apologizing! Or, to be more accurate, I'm listing excuses about why I have been a silent participant. Here's my list:

- My first mystery (and second novel), Murder by Mushroom, is being released in 2 weeks from Steeple Hill. Since you guys are writers and marketers, you know what I'm going through right now.

- I have a deadline for a contracted book, and I…

Book Review: Plug Your Book! is a goldmine of treasures.

I consider myself a mega marketer when it comes to promoting my book, and have earned the nickname of Shameless Promoter in my circle of peers and friends. Over the past 4 years I have tried many strategies to increase my internet "exposure". Many of them have been small time. Some didn't work at all.

Steve and I seem to be 'on the same page' when it comes to how important it is to market books online. It's vital. You can reach millions of people if you know how. If you follow Steve's… Continue

5 STARS for Whale Song from Amazon Top 100 Reviewer

"This is an amazing story, and one you'll want to read again and again. Cheryl Kaye Tardif skillfully weaves her tale of friendship, love, loss, pain and forgiveness...and just about the point when you think you have it all figured out, the author throws in a twist, and an ending well worthy of being called a grand finale. A short yet emotional read that may just move you to tears."

Harry Potter Mania

I know that jealousy is a wasted emotion that gets you nowhere in life---but man I am jealous of J.K. Rowling right now!

I don't know about where you live, but in the Detroit area there were numerous parties for the release of the final Harry Potter book and "read-ins" for readers, complete with costume contests and decorations. It's great that kids (and some adults) are actually reading a BOOK these days---but I just don't get it. I could never make it through the first Harry Potter…
