Websites

If you're looking for a cheap way to get a website up, go to zoomshare.com . They give you several backgrounds. A promotional stratergy I use with websites in general is having one main website but individual websites that give some information and link back to the main one.

The interesting thing about zoomshare is that you can click in one of their sections to put yourself on google. Within a few days of doing so, your site does show up. In the photo section, you can put up…

Buddhism in Nepal (Satis Shroff, Freiburg)

Der Buddhismus war ursprünglich eine philosophische Reformbewegung, eine von vielen, die aus der Krise der vedisch-brahmanischen Religion im 6. Jahrhundert v. Chr. resultierten. Der historische Buddha wurde um 563 v. Chr. in…

Search Status for Firefox

Earlier this year I decided to "fire" Internet Explorer 7.0. It was crashing too often, hanging up too much, and I could never configure an interface that was most useful to me. I've been using Firefox as my browser and couldn't be happier -- it's everything a browser should be. The coolest thing about Firefox is the large number of plug-ins offered.…

Vampire Trivia!

In Poland you could run into the Sriz - opinions differ on whether this is technically a vampire or "just" another type of paranormal monster, but you decide!

The Sriz climbs to the top of a church steeple at night and calls out the names of his victims - usually he/she/it is a serial killer that has gained power through unholy means and uses it now to feed his evil urges. The victims will pass away within days of the names being called out; through an accident or health reasons or…

Oh yeah, I'm lost:(

I've never had a problem figuring blogs out for my everyday life; blog quite a bit on myspace for my family and friends, even had one on blogger.com for a while there. But then I wanted to set one up that is professional, about writing, about books, publishing in general. My website comes with WordPress which seems ok but I'm definately not high tech enough to figure this stuff out on my own and could use a little help if there are any angels viewing this.

What am I looking for? A…

Just Sit There and Do Nothing

My fiancée and I were speaking recently about the ability to sit still in what we both refer to as a "boring" environment and just do nothing. It's a challenge for each of us, as we both tend to engage ourselves in something, whether we're reading, watching a movie, or playing an online game, and we always fight the urge to just sit there and do nothing (and be contemplative or meditative). I know that there's a great deal of value and power of sitting and doing…

Donna's Strangelife: Or, How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Hurricane

The Secret action plan offered in Love's Secret

A 13 year study found that many newlyweds are far from blissfully in

love. Couples whose marriages begin in romantic bliss are particularly

divorce-prone because such intensity is too hard to maintain. Believe

it or not, marriages that start out with less "Hollywood romance"

usually have more promising futures. Huston, a pioneer in the

psychology of relationships, launched the Processes of Adaptation in

Intimate Relationships (the "PAIR Project") in 1981, in which… Continue

Exciting News

I just wanted to share my good news with anyone interested.

Last Saturday, September 15, my new book of Old Testament stories, How Often Would I Have Gathered You, received a prestigious Our History--Our Heritage Publications Award (Golden Quill) from the League of Utah Writers. Needless to say, I am very pleased and excited about this honor. :-)
