A Partner in Healing

Yesterday, I buried a dear patient.

I am a family nurse practitioner and not a stranger to death, but like many health care providers, I have viewed the death of a patient as a failure. Not this time. Karen taught me how to let go. How to accept. How to truly partner with my patients. Thank you, Karen, for the gift of your life and for the gift of your dis-ease that bonded us. Thank you for the grace of your death.

On the morning of her death, I felt Karen—like a bubble of… Continue

Wonderful New Cover for Soon-to-be-Released Book ~ "Raw Redemption"

I'm so happy with my new cover for my soon to be released book, Raw Redemption. After receiving several complaints about the last cover being too restrictive, my new designer, Chris Hayes, came up with something everyone simply loves. More importantly, a cover that has attracted a lot of attention.

Raw Redemption will hit stores early next month. Be on the look out for it.

Guerilla Marketing Approach

The Guerilla Approach

The term guerilla is nothing new. Much like in the ‘olden’ days, Guerillas are business operators who use their time, energy, and imagination instead of their money to build their business. Translating into a higher ROI. This is not to say that money is not spent, but more like, utilizing it for more effecient marketing purposes.

Unlike traditional marketing, which is geared towards big business, guerilla publicity is targeted towards smaller… Continue

Doing Things God's Way

Exodus 20:2-17

Let’s begin this week’s discussion by looking at the Personhood of humans; from this we will note that mankind is the highest and most complex of God’s creation. Genesis 1:26-27 states that God created man in His image and likeness. Because Adam and Eve were created in the image and likeness of God they were able to experience and respond to God’s fellowship, His love, and holiness. Therefore, they possessed a moral likeness to God with hearts capable of loving and… Continue

Review for How to Organize a Virtual Book Tour

“Times are changing and the world of writing has certainly joined this trend. Studies tell us that readers are no longer heading to physical bookstores and libraries in the numbers that we once experienced. So where are today’s readers? Online – and that is where authors, poets and writers of all genres must go if they want to survive in the publishing industry.

Carol Denbow has provided a simplified step-by-step guide on Virtual Tours that… Continue

Obama's First Term In Office: What does it have to do with an ancient prophecy?

"This victory alone is not the change we seek - it is only the chance for us to make that change."

–– From Barack Obama's acceptance speech.

Obama's campaign ran on the platform of change. His first term ends in 2012, the prophetic end of the ancient Mayan calendar. Talk about change! December 21, 2012 marks the end of an "Age" or "Sun" as they referred to it in their culture. It also marks the beginning of a new Age… Continue

Finding Opportunity in a Teacup

I recently read Greg Mortenson and David Oliver Relin’s Three Cups of Tea, the fascinating non-fiction account of how Mortenson, a mountain climber and American nurse, came to build fifty-five schools in Pakistan and Afghanistan. In one of my favorite parts of the book, Mortenson describes a 1998 talk he gave in a sports shop in Apple Valley, Minnesota, where the store staff was so busy he had to set up the seating -- over a hundred folding chairs -- himself. After weeks of… Continue
