Susan Cook-Jahme: is an illustrative artist, author, poet & photographer. Her writing subjects are often taken from her experiences of every day life in Africa and can either make the reader roar with laughter, or cry with compassion. She works out of her home-based studio in the beautiful Western Cape region of South Africa, using her journals and photographic material of Africa's people, beautiful animals, flora and fauna collected over many years in Africa's most wild and inaccessible areas as material for her painting and writing subjects. Susan's life has been spent in various African countries and the Indian Ocean Islands. She started writing at an early age and has had her illustrations, poetry, articles and short stories published in well known publications throughout the world.
Hello Susan.....love your photo with the gorgeous cat! I have traveled to many places in this world of ours but have never been to Africa. Thanks for the "friend" invitation. It would seem you have led an extremely interesting life and I'm glad you have used your experiences for both your writing and painting efforts. I too am an artist and author.
Hi Susan! I'm living with a toddler who's suddenly decided he's against all forms of sleeping, but other than that, I'm fine. ;) Thanks for stopping by.
Hello Susan,
Same old stuff with me, marketing my novel Palawan and working on a couple of new projects. I now have Palawan available in hard cover and it will be coming out as an audio book later this year.

Hi Susan,
Thanks for your interest. My second book, 'My Dearest Friend', came out with Wings ePress on January 1st and I have been busy with promotion. Actually, it has been a very busy month.
Thanks for the note Susan, I've beenkeeping busy with doctor's appointments for myself and my husband, quilting, and the usual stuff. My poetry seems to have taken last place for a while, but you can view my books for sale at
Every time I see that lion with you I think of my little Siamese. He dreams about being a lion. I've just signed the contract for a short story to appear in a horror anthology called "Beneath the Surface" published by Shroud Publishing. I'm also working on a speculative fiction novel about the myth of Lilith called "The Night Visitors." I am also doing research on a historical thriller about Jundah Benjamin, the Jewish Confederate Secretary of State in the U.S. Civil War, and his escape to England after the war. Tentative title: Judah
I'm also teaching five classes of college composition this semester (three online), so my "plate is quite full" as they say. I hope you're doing well.
Hey Susan, so glad to hear from you. What have I been up too? Let's see. I have just completed a children's book, I'm working on a parenting manuscript along with two manuscripts in the Derrick Sweat crime Series, and editing a few short stories. Also, trying to stay sane as a full time single parent. Hey, thanks for asking. God Bless. Talk to you soon.
Walked my "little girl" down the aisle on New Years Eve! My book "21 Days with Dad" was released 1/21. It's the story of my motorcycle trip to all four corners of the United States with my dad. Since the release, I've been organizing a media campaign and book signings for a spring push. Details @ www.21dayswithdad.com

Thanks for the invitation. Your books look fascinating. and so does that lion cubin the photo. I've been to your country one time but only managed to see metropolitan Durban and Cape Town. I hope to return one of these days and do the kind of traveling that I wanted to do but didn't have the time for thanks to the corporate rat-race I was in the first time around.
Thanks again for the invitation. I'm looking forward to knowing you -- and your work better.
Thank you for the invitation. I'm delighted to accept. The ABC book looks fabulous. AndI hear South Africa is one of the most beautfiul places in the world. I hope to see it one day.

HI THERE, HAPPY EASTER TO YOU TOO. I AM IN THE MIDDLE OF RENOVATIONS AND TRYING TO PREPARE FOR MY TRIP. I LONG FOR THE LUXURY OF HAVING TIME TO 'WRITE' AS IT IS ALL BOTTLING UP INSIDE OF ME WAITING TO GET OUT....ALL MY THOUGHTS WILL HAVE TO FORM A QUEUE...HA HA HA. WELL TAKE CARE,
CHRISTY
Hi Susan. Thanks so much for finding me here and inviting me into your group of friends. My writing has kept me busy these past several months and haven't had a chance to get in here very ofte. Hope things will slow down soon so I can!
Isn't it amazing that you can live in Africa and sell your books world wide? When I lieved in Sweden inthe 1950's I wrote a book about my US Army experience but it was impractical to mail by sea a lsalboriously typed manuscript to New York and expect to get it back if rejecgted. One couldn't buy postage to pay for the MS return, except by expensive Internatrniolan Postage coupons. So the book languished in my files. Now at last, fifty years later, I digitized the book and set it up at lulu.com just as your book is. Mine is called "Queer Company" and it is not about gays in the miliatry, but about the crazy bunch of phuysicallys or mentally unfit recruits who got special modified basic training. You can read a sample of it at lulu.com. lots of luck with your book. Visit my updated web site www.hu.mtu.edu/~hlsachs.
